Where would you be without your mobile phone?
November 30th 2006 00:03
I get angry at my partner because he has a mobile phone but he leaves it at home or he has it on silent and doesnt pick it up. I always say to him "Why do you think its called a MOBILE PHONE? Take it with you!" Maybe I wouldnt be so angry if I didnt rely on my phone too much. I mean, why am I calling him in the first place? Is it really that important? I think the last call I made to him that was semi important was "If you get home before me, can you take the steaks out of the freezer please?"
I really don't remember what happened before mobile phones when you were meeting someone and they were late? I suppose you'd just call their house to see if they have left or not? What if something bad happened on their way to meet you? Then how long would you wait? I think I'd wait half an hour to an hour?
At least back in the days before mobile phones you wouldnt get loud obnoxious people yelling on their phones while in a small enclosed area like on the bus! I can not stand people who yell over the phone and other people are just listening into their conversation. The worst conversation I heard was this absoulte wanker infront of me on the train saying "Yeah, so we going out tonight mate? Can't hear ya, you driving mate? You got the grog? You been drinking mate?" Ohhhh his mate would be a police mans dream arrest.
I mean "yay" to technology. I remember when the first mobile phones came out. I was probably about 8 or 9 they were bricks! By the time I got to high school a third of the girls at school had one so Ive grown up with mobiles. I suppose if I grow up with them I wouldnt know what I would be missing?

With all our pounding technology, it looked kind of tranquil... no iPods, not much advertising...

Heheh, actually I don't know. If I get a random SMS I usually ask "Who is this"
If they say to you "Its your mate Bill!" Just say "Ohhh lost your number when I got a new phone"
